Free TOEFL 2026 Practice Test

This is a full-length practice test for the TOEFL iBT as ETS redesigned it on January 21, 2026: adaptive Reading and Listening, no integrated tasks, no standalone essay, and a score reported on the 1-6 band scale instead of the old 0-120 total. If the last TOEFL material you studied still shows a 700-word reading passage or a “read-listen-write” task, it is teaching the retired test. What the test covers. Reading (up to 28 minutes) runs three task types: Complete the Words, Read in Daily Life, and Read an Academic Passage. Listening (up to 27 minutes) runs four: Listen and Choose a Response, Listen to a Conversation, Listen to an Announcement, and Listen to an Academic Talk. Writing (22 minutes, not adaptive) is Build a Sentence, Write an Email, and an Academic Discussion post. Speaking (8 minutes, not adaptive) is Listen and Repeat and a short Interview. Reading and Listening are multistage adaptive: how accurately you handle the first module decides whether the second module draws from the harder question pool or the easier one, which caps how high that section can score.

How scoring works. Each section reports its own band from 1.0 to 6.0 in half-point steps, and your overall band is the average of all four, rounded to the nearest half point. Reading and Listening are scored automatically since they are multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank tasks. Speaking and Writing are evaluated by an AI system using the same rubric categories ETS publishes: delivery, language use, and topic development for Speaking; task completion, organization, and language control for Writing. What it costs. Your first full mock test is free, with no credit card required, and you can delete it and take it again, subject to fair use limits. You do need a free account, since we save your in-progress answers and have to attach your AI-scored Speaking and Writing results to something. Sign-up takes an email and password. The free test reuses the same question set on every attempt; a paid plan draws fresh questions each time, useful if you want to retest your progress every few weeks rather than see the same passages twice.

How accurate is it. The band scale and per-section rubrics match what ETS publishes, so the prediction is built on the same criteria the real exam uses. We are actively collecting real exam outcomes from users to check the prediction against, and treat it as a strong estimate of test-day readiness rather than a guarantee of your official score.
