TOEFL Build a Sentence Practice
About this task
Build a Sentence opens the TOEFL 2026 Writing section. You are given a set of word chunks, phrases rather than single words, and you drag them into the one order that forms a grammatically correct sentence. A full set usually runs about ten items inside a six-minute window, which works out to roughly 30 seconds per sentence, so recognizing the correct grammar quickly matters more than reading speed. There is no partial credit for a chunk placed one slot off, so this task rewards fast, confident grammar instincts over careful deliberation. This practice mode reproduces the drag-and-drop interface with a fresh set of sentences each time, a live timer, and instant right-or-wrong scoring on submission so you can see exactly which chunk order tripped you up and drill the pattern again.
